North Yuba is home to some of the finest wines, olive oils and hand-crafted foods in California. Nestled in the Sierra Foothills between 1500-2000' elevation, its mountain terroir drives flavor deep into fruit, resulting in products of rich varietal character.

North Yuba is the most awarded olive oil region in the Americas, featuring Gold Medal producers such as Calolea and Terra d'oro. Apollo Olive Oil (www.apollooliveoil.com) was recently recognized as one of the top ten producers of premium olive oil in the world for 2006, and produced the top-rated oil outside the Mediterranean!

Wine producers include Renaissance (www.rvw.com), of which Matt Kramer (Wine Spectator) has said "Renaissance makes some of California's finest Cabernets, bar none." Clos Saron (www.clossaron.com) makes a Pinot Noir so distinctive that they are sold out every year before release. Ramey-Schulten, specializes in Rhone varieties and Lucero Winery in Cabernet, Merlot and Chardonnay.

The region has long been a bastion of traditional and organic methods of agriculture. Producers include Bubalus Bubalis(www.realmozzarella.com), which makes the only true mozzarella (from water buffalo) in America and Filaki Farms, which has a 30 year history of providing the Sacramento Valley with organically grown mountain cherries, peaches, pears and apples.
